Free Online Tutoring — K–12 Illinois
IPTA connects K–12 students across Illinois with trained peer tutors — live, online, and completely free. No commutes. No waiting rooms. Just learning.
Serving students across Illinois, from Chicago to downstate.
IPTA pairs K–12 students with high school and undergraduate tutors who recently mastered the same material. Peer tutors remember the confusion, the missed steps, and the moment things clicked — and they meet students exactly where they are, online.
We are a student-led nonprofit serving Illinois. All tutors complete training in online facilitation and evidence-based teaching. Every session is free, every match is intentional, and no student is turned away due to geography or resources.
What We Offer
Everything happens online — no travel, no scheduling headaches. Pick the format that works for how you learn.
01
Matched to your exact grade, subject, and availability. Work through homework, test prep, or concept gaps with a dedicated tutor over video call.
02
Live online sessions for 2–4 students working through the same subject. A tutor guides discussion, answers questions, and keeps the group on track.
03
Weekly live webinars on high-demand topics: essay structure, algebra, ACT/SAT prep. No sign-up required — just join the link online.
Getting Started
Fill out a short form with your grade level, subject, and availability. Parents can submit on behalf of younger students.
Our coordinators pair you with a qualified peer tutor within 48 hours based on subject, grade level, and schedule.
Your tutor sends a video call link. Sessions are 50 minutes, held entirely online — from any device with a browser.
Continue with the same tutor weekly, request additional subjects, or give feedback to help us improve the match.
